What it takes to deliver heavy-duty access solutions across the UK
Ground protection might look straightforward once it's laid — but getting it to site on time, in the right quantities, and in perfect condition is a logistical challenge that most clients never see. Here's an honest look at what goes into nationwide trackway delivery.
The Weight Problem
Our heaviest trackway panels — like the PowerTrax 60 (Signaroad) — weigh around 75kg each. A typical event or construction project might require hundreds of panels. That's significant tonnage, requiring specialist HGVs, proper load securing, and drivers experienced in handling oversized loads.
Every delivery is planned to ensure the vehicle can actually access the site. Ground conditions, bridge weight limits, access road widths, and local permit requirements all have to be checked in advance.
Time Pressures
Events don't wait. If a festival opens on Saturday, the trackway needs to be installed by Friday — and often Thursday to allow for adjustments. That means deliveries have to be reliable, not just on the day, but on the hour.
GT Trax maintains a well-organised logistics operation to make this possible. Our fleet is maintained to high standards, and our planning team works with clients to create realistic delivery windows that account for traffic, distance, and site access complexity.
Nationwide Coverage
We operate across the whole of the UK, from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands. That means some deliveries involve overnight logistics, relay drivers, or split loads. For major projects, we'll carry out a pre-delivery site visit to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Returns and Cleaning
After a project, panels need to come back clean and ready for the next client. Our custom wash-down facility — powered by solar energy and recycled rainwater — ensures every panel returns to depot in top condition, ready for redeployment.
The Team Behind It
None of this works without experienced people. Our drivers, installation crews, and logistics planners work closely together to ensure every project is delivered as promised. It's not glamorous work, but it's what makes the difference between a reliable hire partner and an unreliable one.
